Today we worked on ESTAR and how it is used differently then SER, even though they translate the same in ENGLISH. Here's a worksheet we are filling in and today we only worked on the bottom of the page "E for emoción". Here is the WORKSHEET (please print out a copy and fill in the notes from this Estar PRESENTATION in the section labeled "E".) The rest of the class we used to finish our Retratos de palabras as well as the refinement of our letters. These need to be finished by class time on Wednesday. Please have a copy of your letter printed out with your signature! Trabajamos en las cartas de El Raro que soy (due on Wednesday for half the sophomores, and Thursday for the other half. Juniors need to have turned these in by Wednesday.) Also, you should have started your retrato de palabras (word portrait.). Here's a link to help give you some inspiration on how these retratos could look. Be sure you use the sentences from your letters to Mexico! (Use FULL sentences!!!).
Viernes: We had a "charla" using: Tengo hambre (Literally, "I have hunger", or in English-- I am hungry), Tengo sed (I am thirsty), and Tengo sueño (I am sleepy). Also, Voy a... (I go to... you can put a verb here (unconjugated) or a place. This is vocabulary that you need to write down in your vocabulario section of your binder. Lunes, trabajamos sobre las cartas para los estudiantes de México. Aquí está el LINK al Proyecto El raro que soy. Martes, vamos a continuar con la parte artistica. If you're not in class, please use a high contrast picture of yourself, and on photoshop or Photo bucket, make the photo into a high contrast black and white. Then we will project them and trace the image on the wall in order to start working on a word image, using the words from our letter telling about ourselves to show the shadows and areas that are shaded. An example is on this blog entry. Hoy, practicamos como describir gente, leemos un artículo sobre Sofie Vergara, unos pasamos la prueba (quiz) de las metas, y creamos unas preguntas para la entrevista para mañana. (Today, we practiced how to describe people, we read an article about Sofia Vergara, some of us took the Metas oral quiz, and we created some questions that we are going to use in our interview tomorrow.) El Arbol de la Familia was definitively due today, as well as the three paragraphs. Please attach to the class that you're in on Google Classroom. Aquí está el LINK al Proyecto "El raro que soy" (How unique am I). We're starting this today. We will have letters ready to send to the high school in Ensenada, Mexico and the students in the English classes there early next week, and will start on our word-images this next week. Today we'll interview each other and begin to compile what we are going to put in our letters.
THINGS ARE DUE TODAY!!!
1. Cuaderno check!! 5 pts. if you've got all your Trabajos cortos, 5 sections labeled, papers arranged in proper sections. 2. We did a "Quien soy" game. 3. Sign up for when you are going to take your ORAL QUIZ on the first four metas (goals). They are: numbers, saludos, dates and calendar stuff, describing the classroom. (Use the yellow vocab sheet to help you study. Here's a LINK to that.) You will have to sign up in class. 4. REFINE and turn in your 3 paragraphs of your family members (here's the RUBRIC). To turn it in, go to your AHS email, join my Spanish 2 classroom, join the class and turn it in (click on the period you're in and turn your google doc in that way. Don't worry if yours gets labeled in a different period.) Your Árbol de la Familia is also due! Total points for the 3 paragraphs and Árbol: 40 pts. (I will accept tomorrow, Wednesday, first thing as you walk in the door.) 1. El Trabajo Corto de 11 de septiembre. Please follow the directions on the T.C. 2. THEN, go ahead and work on two other family members so you end up with a total of 3 paragraphs, answering the prompts from the RUBRIC. Here's a worksheet that might help if you're having trouble getting started. The three paragraphs are DUE at the beginning of class on TUESDAY, Sept. 15. 3. Please type your paragraphs and print them out by the time you get to class on Tuesday. Also, have your computer with you (with power) in order to work on REFINEMENT. 4. Also, be sure your Árbol de la Familia is FINISHED by the beginning of class on TUESDAY. NOTE: If you want to be able to type using Spanish characters, here's a link on how to do that for Mac's, and for PC's. If you have a number pad on your PC, you can use this ALT codes system. |
