wow-- mucho tiempo no he postado. (Long time I haven't posted!) Because we're wrapping it up kids!
Viva Cuba night at All School Exhibition was pretty awesome, thanks everyone! Salsa lessons, Moros y Cristianos, Havana tours (well, look at the mural mostly) and take your Pic with Che or Fidel! Here are some pics that were on my camera. (There are others that need to be downloaded off other cameras...) Tomorrow is the day that you should have finished your cooking video and it will be graded from your DP. Be sure your video includes an INTRODUCTION, a BODY, and a REFLECTION on how the food tasted, what you'd do differently the next time (Hacería - I would do...). When you post to your DP, be sure to include a description of the project in INGLES!
In class, we will begin a short review process while we also make sure we have our acts together for All School Exhibition. Primero, vamos a dibujar Che and Fidel. Entonces, vamos a construir una palma. Y pues, ustedes van a preguntar a mucha gente en la clase preguntas sobre su vida.
Get ready for OspreyFest on May 12! We'll be creating CUBA in my room. We will serve Moros y Christianos (rice and beans with some bacon), and a fruity drink of some kind, plus we'll be dancing and playing salsa music, and painting some big murallas of Havana on the wall.
Also, we are working on MANDATOS and will have a QUIZ on Thursday, or maybe Friday since Wednesday was PSAT testing. (Use orange Quizlet LINK to study!!) One last thing, some REVIEW of Yogo verbs (like tener, venir, hacer, salir, y poner) Plus, get your ESPETACULOS de la COCINA filmed. Here's the rubric. Slide Show on turning verbs into adjectives Known as PAST PARTICIPLES; take a verb, add -ido or -ado to make it be the -ed version of that verb:
to bake (cocer) becomes baked: cocido to eat (comer) becomes eaten: comido to cut (cortar) becomes chopped: cortado Don't forget, once these words are being used as adjectives, they must make agreement with the noun they describe. (el queso cortado, la manzana cortada, las cebollas cortadas, los huevos cortados) Please visit this lesson on Past Participles and take the quiz HERE. There are exceptions to the rule of -ido and-ado: Here is a list of common exceptions. After doing the slide show, we worked on our RECETAS due Friday. (20 points) See project description in entry belowif you need to know more. Hola! Hoy, empezamos el Proyecto DEL ESPETÁCULO de la COCINA! Here's the LINK to the project description. Today we studied some FOOD VOCABULARY and TERMS FOR COOKING. (I have these lists in class.) We are working on changing verbs into adjectives-- cocer = to bake cocido = baked (an adjective as in "baked ham") cociendo = baking. We began by choosing our recipe. EVERYONE has to do the recipe individually. DUE FRIDAY of this week. (See project description.) 1. ORAL: Con MANDATOS, di a tu vecino como hacer un desayuno.
2. ESCRIBIDO: Con este trabajo (Cuba, Che, y la Comida #1), mira este Slide Show para explicar que necesita hacer. Hoy, hablamos de que vamos hacer por LAS 6 SEMANAS DE ESPAÑOL!
